Highway-Superelevation Tables

The maximum superelevation rates are controlled by climate conditions, terrain, type of area (rural or urban) & frequency of slow-moving vehicle. In common practice, the highest superelevation use is 10% although 12% is used in some cases. Superelevation more than 8% only used in area without snow and ice to minimized slipping across a highway by stopped vehicle.
