Bridge-Wire for Prestressing

Wires are produced through the cold-drawn process on steel rods.

Typically, the diameter of wires varies from 5mm to 7mm, with tensile strength between 1570MPa and 1860MPa.

Either galvanised or ungalvanized wires can be used for prestressing.

The use of individual wires in pre-tensioned beam is replaced by strands that gives better bond characteristics.
