Bridge-Extradosed Bridge

Extradosed bridge is a variation of cable-stayed bridge.

This kind of bridge utilizes stiff concrete deck and shallow cable stays.

As a result, the bridge deck works more like an externally prestressed deck rather than a cable-stayed bridge.

With this arrangement, the height of pylon can be reduced.

When twin plane of stays is used, the pylon height above deck can be reduced to 10% of main span length.

Extradosed bridge is an economic option for 100m to 200m span range.
