Bridge-Slab Deck Bridge

In situ slab decks are used for short span bridges.

This kind of deck is easier to construct, but its section is less effective.

For this option, voided decks are popular as the presence of voids reduces the deck weight.

The prestressing tendons are placed in the concrete region, either between the voids or in the slab.

Nonetheless, this kind of bridge has been replaced by precast beam, which is a more economic option.
