Mass Component of a Dynamic System

 

Mass component is one of the big three component for a dynamic system. It is contributed by dead load and certain portion of live load exerted on structure.
Here, we look into the development of lumped mass model by converting real condition to idealized condition through a series of assumptions. Then, we use an example to show the calculation of mass component.
