Foundation-Pile Settlement Using Randolph and Wroth Method

Randolph and Wroth method analytically determine the pile settlement by assuming the soil behave elastically until failure.

The pile base is then considered as an embedded shallow foundation.

Base and shaft stiffnesses are calculated to aid in determining the settlement.

The pile is considered axially rigid i.e. incompressible when loaded. Thus, the value of settlement at the top and base of pile is assumed the same.
