Foundation-Piled Raft System

The overall stiffness of a piled raft system is the combination of vertical stiffnesses of raft and pile group.

The use of piled raft system will reduce the differential settlement within the foundation.

It would be sufficient to provide piles only under the central area of raft to achieve this.
