1mW Water Reticulation Design to SPAN-UTG 005
Service Reservoir Dimension
The dimension of service reservoir is determined based on total average water demand in its service area.
The height of reservoir is limited to 5m when its capacity is less than 4.54 million litres, and 7m when it is greater than that.
However, the capacity of elevated reservoir should not be greater than 4.54 million litres. On top of that, minimum of 9m boundary setback from the edge of foundation is required for this type of reservoir.
For reservoir that sits on ground, the required setback is 6m instead. Clearance between two structures should be at least 3m.
When conducting network hydraulic analysis, bottom water level (BWL) of reservoir is used as the head at supply node of the system.
