Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Structures

When conducting structural analysis, we are expected to determine the internal forces in element, such as bending moment and shear force, alongside its deformation. These data are useful when conducting structural design for the elements. We can also know the overall behaviour of structure out of it.

There are several analysis methods that may be adopted. It is common to assume the structure behaves in linear elastic manner, and moment redistribution may be introduced. Plastic and non-linear analysis may also be used. Appropriate loading combination is required to represent the targeted limit states.

Prior to analysis, we need to idealize our proposed structure into analysis model. The idealization is mostly based on the function and dimension of the member itself.
