Segregation and Bleeding of Concrete

A freshly mixed concrete may undergo segregation and bleeding if it does not have proper consistency.

Segregation is the separation of aggregate with other constituent materials.

Bleeding is the condition where water rise to the top of mix and form cement slurry.

Both processes make the mix non-homogeneous and eventually affect its strength.
