Concrete Tensile Splitting Test

Tensile strength of concrete helps it resist cracking from shrinkage and temperature change.

Since it is difficult to measure the tensile strength directly, we can use tensile splitting test instead.

Under normal circumstances, the tensile splitting strength of concrete is about 10 to 15% of its compressive strength.
